Friday, April 27, 2012 – Construction Continues

Construction on the Malecon has progressed, slowly but surely! With a lot of focus on keeping the Malecon looking well-maintained and new, and keeping San Felipe’s downtown clean, the past 5 and a half months have definitely made an improvement on the town:

North end of the Malecon is still under construction, a fence has been put up around the rower's equipment.

Sea side of the Malecon is done and looking very nice...

The small section of Chetumal in between the Malecon and Ave. Mar de Cortez being redone.

The center of the Malecon is being prepped for concrete...

Meanwhile the finished Malecon stretch is looking nice, clean and smooth with trash cans lined all the way down and a temporary railing installed.

And so construction has continued… on the other side of the street, construction has not yet begun past the Chetumal intersection, but slowly and surely, work is moving on and the Malecon is feeling fresher and cleaner already! Leave a comment below and let us know what you think of the redesign!!

It really does feel like there’s going to be a lot more attention to keeping it clean and well-maintained, with the bright red garbage cans all the way down, plus Playa Clean has some on the beach as well… it’s looking good! :)
