While San Felipe may not have a mall, mega shopping center or bazaar, shopping options still abound – the purchases may be a little bit more unique though.
Wandering through the eclectic little stores of the shopkeepers along the Malecon and Curio Street, you will find wide selections of glassware, shot glasses, trinket boxes, salt and pepper shakers, ceramic planters, decorative metalwork, hand-painted light-switch covers, chessboards, bikinis, humorous profane T-shirts, children’s toys, intricately assembled shell creations, and more.
As you get more familiar with the town, you also come to know which shops specialize in certain things. One is known for selling the best real vanilla in town, another specializes in Day of the Dead statuettes, another has the neatest metal pieces to decorate your home.
You never know what you will find out when you head out shopping in San Felipe!
