Symphony by the Sea – Wednesday, April 2, 2014

The past weekend brought a fantastic show of cultural displays to the Malecon! Mexicali’s Symphonic Orchestra paid us a visit and put on a beautiful concert. The theme of the concert was a journey through pieces by Mexican and South American composers and included high-energy renditions of tangos and mambas, as well as more classical-sounding pieces and few traditional Mexican pieces, such as Cielito Lindo and Las MaƱanitas.

The night before the orchestra, the Malecon was also graced with a performance by young students of an acrobatics school in Mexicali. Talented young athletes performed choreographed feats as onlookers gathered.

Hopefully we get visited again by these talented groups – it certainly was something different and fun for San Felipe!
