And so we head into another San Felipe summer! Temperatures stayed fairly cool for a while this year, but now we’re feeling the heat coming on. Snowbirds have taken off to the north and the action around town goes on in the mornings and evenings, with everyone retiring for a siesta around the heat of mid-day. There’s something about the warmth that just gives San Felipe a whole different feel…

San Felipe can have a certain dream-like feel to it..
It can feel like a shot out of an old movie…
But no matter what, it stays beautiful!
Here’s to another San Felipe summer! What do you do in San Felipe during the summer? Do you head north or do you take on the heat? Leave a comment below!
One of the simple things that lends that unique flavor to the Malecon is the dozens of hand-painted signs on the businesses. Many have been there for years and years and tell a little bit of the history of the town. Cartoon characters, funny sayings, and that unmistakable painted-by-hand font all make it worth taking a moment to take in these unique signs!
You’ll not find better tacos than in San Felipe.
Nothing like a icy chilled beverage, ya know.
Why, yes we do.
You know what they say about life being full of signs.
What’s the best sign that you’ve seen in San Felipe?
If it seems like we like to brag a lot about the simple pleasures that come with life in the Baja…. well… we do. But let’s face it. When was the last time you got to relax, enjoy a Corona, and then wander the beaches for miles anywhere else?
Somehow, the beer just seems a little colder in Baja…
The beaches, a little more golden…
ATV, Seagull, Human
And a little more sand gets in the shoes. So really, you can’t blame us if San Felipe steals our hearts. In reality, who doesn’t want to be a beach bum!
Here’s to another fantastic day in San Felipe!
Ok, so one of the major things San Felipe is known for is this:
Oh my wow, Beaches.
The incredible expanses of beach are enough to inspire any avid beachcomber, tan-seeker or builder of sand castles. If you’ve been gone from San Felipe for any length of time, you’ll find yourself missing strolls along the golden sand, with the tide lapping lazily by your feet. Even if you prefer to keep the sand out of your shoes, you can still catch the seaside vibe along the Malecon while ordering up tacos. You’ll catch views of the sea and sand from almost anywhere around town, from the north, to downtown, to south, and each beachy area has it’s own little character.
Hmmm… something’s missing from this view….
Ah, that’s better.
Nothing says welcome to San Felipe like a seaside cerveza. Admittedly, it’s hard to catch San Felipe during a time when there is not some exciting little festival going on (usually centered around a delicious food), but even if you come during a slow time, the beach is always here, open and awaiting. (And if it seems like we brag about it a lot….well, we do. For good reason.)
Spring is springing in San Felipe, and the weather is getting more and more beautiful, and the usual spring-time events are in full swing. This past month we had Carnaval down on the Malecon, which always seems to start the beginning of the new season in San Felipe. Next month we’ll be looking at Spring Break and fun in the sun! The crowd gathers for dancing, shopping and fun at Carnaval 2015!
The Malecon was lined with vendors and bands
Calm, azure waters… take me to San Felipe!
Take me to the beach… I need to make some footprints in this sand!
Have a great Wednesday, and be sure to look outside, take a walk, breathe the sea air and just appreciate living in such a beautiful spot in the world!
